The Andy Spinosi Award

Andy Spinosi was a 70's skateboarding legend in Alabama. As a flow skater for Kryptonics and a team rider for Pipe Dreams skate shop, Wheel-a-Wave and Flying Wheels skateparks, he took home the Pepsi Cup for overall winner in the Pepsi Skateboard Challenge in 1978. His name graced several skateboarding publications throughout the late 70's and early 80's.

Andy later went on to become one of Birmingham's most talented radio personalities filling the airwaves for over twenty years.

Andy Spinosi passed away suddenly in 2004 to the shock of the entire community!

In honor of Andy's passing and his contributions to the early skate scene in Alabama a special award was created in 2005 by SkateAlabama.com to acknowledge and celebrate his legacy.

The Spinosi Award honors the individual whom has shown the most outstanding dedication and contribution to the Alabama Skateboarding scene for the prior year.
